On 10th and 11th of September in the luxury capital of Azerbaijan Baku took place the 7th International conference for ccTLD registries and registrars of CIS, Central and Eastern Europe. Again among the main topics were the “flowers” of the domain industry and of course – the domains .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН.

The conference lasted two days, each of them – filled with interesting and informative sections. On the first day the “headliner” was “the new gTLDs”, those that exist from this year and those that are preparing for launch.
Our marketing and communication specialist Tetyana Ivanova have presented us with “.САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН domain names: the first six months on the Internet!”. She explained the Russian-speaking and Bulgarian-speaking users attitude to the Cyrillic domains, shared the features of the launch period and the first results of the registrations of our domains.
A special subject in this day also was the cooperation of registries and registrars. It is especially important in the time when domains appear constantly. Moreover if before the registrars were fighting for the attention of the registries, now everything is totally different: the registries have to worry about good marketing solutions and to make cooperation with the registrars beneficial.

The second day was devoted to the legal issues of the global Internet development and it’s security and protection. Leading experts working in these areas represented their vision for this issues and shared available solutions of this problem.The final session of the conference was devoted to the IDN-domains and the problem related to the variety of writings these domains in different alphabets.
