Next week on August, 28th and 29th will be held the annual ICANN STUDIENKREIS and this time in East Europe, namely in the Cyrillic speaking, Bulgaria. We, as the .САЙТ and .ОНЛАЙН team, are pleased to be hosts on such an international event.

Who should participate?

The event organizes high level expert seminars on subjects, related to Internet Governance and the development of ICANN, being an open network of individuals from different Internet constituencies – from the private sector, the academia, the civil society, the media and the government.

The most interesting form the Programm:

The programm this year starts with the topic related to the host country (“Internet in Bulgaria – Policy, legislation and market perspectives”) with governmental representative and the manager of the of Bulgarian ccTLD .bg, Mr.Dragomir Slavov. On the second day you can hear more about ICANN and IANA from experts like Avri Doria and Pat Kane (VeriSign).

Key Note Speech is expected on Friday afternoon, when the ICANN’s CEO and President himself, Mr. Fadi Chehade, will speak about “The Net Mundial Alliance: A new season in Internet governance?”.

Originally the ICANN Studienkreis emerged as a network of the German speaking Internet community and was mainly supported by the three German speaking ccTLD registries: DENIC for .de, SWITCH for .ch and .li and nic.at for .at. Later the ICANN Studienkreis became internationalized and worked together with partners from the global gTLD community like Affilias and VeriSign.
